Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has been tapped to direct Tom Holland in Spider-Man 4.
He was initially slated to direct the canceled “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” but stepped away from the project in November 2023. Despite his departure, Cretton remains part of the Marvel universe, having co-developed the forthcoming “Wonder Man” miniseries featuring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Additionally, a sequel to “Shang-Chi” was announced following the success of the first film.
While additional information about the fourth installment in the franchise has not yet been disclosed, this announcement confirms that Holland will reprise his role as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Previously, during promotional interviews for “No Way Home,” he expressed some concerns about continuing to portray the character long-term, particularly as he approaches his 30s.
