‘Wonka’ Director Paul King to Direct Prince Charming Movie

It’s been quite a few years since we’ve heard any word on Disney’s live-action Prince Charming movie. Well today, deadline has given an update.

According to the trade, Wonka and Paddington director, Paul King has been tapped to direct the upcoming Cinderella spinoff. Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker are co-writing along with King.

It should be noted, while plot details are being kept under wraps, back when the movie was in active development we received plot details for the pic, The film will follow Prince Charming’s twin brother, who must take over his brothers identity and team up with Snow White to save Princess Rosebud and his own kingdom from the evil King Anatgony (name could change). Along the way Charming will learn how to find and accept ones own true identity.

The movie is not expected to be connected to Disney’s live action. Cinderella remake that debuted in 2015 starring Lily James.

This isn’t King’s first rodeo with Disney. The acclaimed Director was at one point attached to direct the live action remake of Pinocchio, which ultimately went to Robert Zemeckis.
