Hot off of the “Marvel Comics: The Next Big Thing” panel at New York Comic-Con, Marvel has revealed the next big installement in their Ultimate Marvel saga in “Ultimate Wolverine”.
Penned by writer Chris Cordon (known for his renowned comic series ‘That Texas Blood’ at Image Comics) and illustrated by MOON KNIGHT powerhouse artist Alessandro Cappuccio, this ongoing series will introduce this new version of Wolverine, who in the new Ultimate Universe is the unwilling agent and assasin of the Maker, the twisted variant of Reed Richards that tried to remake this universe to his image.
The series’ synopsis is as follows:
“In order to maintain control of their corner of the Maker’s world, three members of his council – Magik, Colossus and Omega Red – deploy their most lethal asset: The Winter Soldier! But WHO is the weapon behind the mask?”
Before the debut of his oingoing series, readers will see this Wolverine in action properly on ULTIMATE UNIVERSE: ONE YEAR IN #1, which will act as the closing chapter of the first year of the new Ultimate Universe while also planting the seeds for future stories, among them the dreaded return of the Maker!
