Netflix notably grabbed the rights to the show early on in the series’ popularity after it rose to fame nearly a decade ago. According to the streamer, last year it was the second-most-watched program on Netflix. The first was all of the Bridgerton shows.
The addition of the series builds upon the company’s already strong and diverse line-up of children’s programming which includes Bluey, Spidey and his Amazing Friends and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Formerly known as ABC Kid TV, before rebranded as CoComelon in 2018, the series follows a series of 3D-animated children, adults, and animals who interact with each other in daily life, often singing educational or celebratory songs.
2027 aims to quite the year for the franchise. On top of episodes arriving on Disney+, it will also be the same year that Universal Studios will release the franchise’s first theatrical film.
