What 2026 Disney movies do you think will hit a billion?

I answered this a few weeks ago and really my thoughts have yet to change. I believe Moana, Toy Story 5, and Avengers: Doomsday will be the ones to cross the billion-dollar mark at the worldwide box office.

What’s with the new Winnie the Pooh movie talked about last week? Theaters or Disney+?

I have been telling everyone for almost a year that Disney was developing a new Pooh project, and last I hear,d the idea was for the project to get a theatrical release, but Disney+ is always a safe bet for the Hundred Acre Woods.

First of all, happy new year, friens! my question: Is it true Sarah Catherine Hook and Milo Manheim have been officially chosen to be Rapunzel and Flynn?

Happy New Year to you as well, and thank you for the question. The last thing I was told is that the roles have not been cast yet, but this was before Christmas, so things could have changed. I did hear Manheim had a really good audition. As for Hook, I have not heard anything, but my opinion is she is a bit too old for role, but I am not the one casting the movie at the end of the day.

Is the Bambi remake still in production?

It never went into production as the film lost its director, Sarah Polley, over a year ago, but this film has been canned by the studio.

Since Hilary Duff is making her music comeback this year, is it possible that the conversations about the Lizzie McGuire reboot could be brought back?

I do not want to sound rude when I say this, but we are not getting a Lizzie McGuire reboot, and to be honest, think the idea of doing one has fizzled out at the studio.

Disney recently announced the film Gaston, a spin-off of Beauty and the Beast. Is there a possibility of a spin-off about Ursula or King Triton or Prince Eric?

Disney loves their villains, and we will see more villain-centric projects in the future, but spin-offs for Triton and Eric… not in a million years.

Is it true that the Power Rangers reboot is currently casting?

Talent is being tested as we speak. There are names being floated out there that have in fact tested for roles.

Is Hercules live-action still a go? And if yes, who does Disney have their eyes on to play the titular character?

As of now, the film is still in development, but the project does not have a director at this time, so there are no actors being considered at this time.

What will/could be the movies Disney decides to showcase at the Superbowl?

Sometimes Disney brings the goods, and sometimes they don’t. My guess is we will get looks at The Mandalorian and Grogu, Moana, and Toy Story 5.

Any updates regarding the announced “Club 33” movie?

Sadly, I have not heard anything about this movie in quite some time. What I did hear a long time ago was that Rob Letterman (Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, Goosebumps) was being considered to direct.

If The Muppet Show special is a hit, does this mean we’ll get a reboot of The Muppet Show?

I believe that is the idea with pilot, and I’m sure it will be a hit, the return of the Muppets where they were most famous, and host rising superstar Sabrina Carpenter is a match made for success.

There are rumors about the sequel to the Aladdin remake that filming will begin in early 2026, what do you say about this?

This is nonsense; an Aladdin sequel has not even been greenlit, and even if it were to get greenlit today, it wouldn’t even start shooting for over a year.

When can we expect a first look at Jon Favreau’s Oswald show?

Disney’s D23 Expo this Summer.

That’s all for this week’s mailbag. Stay tuned as every week, a new DisInsider Mailbag will drop.
