While the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series continues its streaming dominance on Disney+, the creatives are already hard at work on their take on the Power Rangers series for the streamer.

Names are being thrown around like candy, and even some talent have already tested for roles. Let’s take a look at some of the names and what I am hearing behind them.

The first big name being considered is Peyton Elizabeth Lee. Lee has a strong working relationship with Disney Branded Television after appearing in the Disney+ series Doogie Kamealoha M.D. and Secret Society of Second Born Royals, as well as the Disney+ movie Prom Pact. Her name is at the top of the list as one of the rangers, and I am told that unless a last-minute project forces her out, she will likely be one of the leads.

Mason Thames, who had a stellar 2025 with How to Train Your Dragon and Black Phone 2, is a name being thrown out. I will say, I do not know of him being in the running, but as I said in a past DisInsider Mailbag, Disney is eager to work with Thames, and it will happen at some point. The Power Rangers series is expected to start filming in April, and by then, How to Train Your Dragon 2 will have wrapped up filming.

The third and final big name being floated around is Mrs. Nick Jonas herself, Priyanka Chopra. While I have not heard much about the series, and who is being cast, a few weeks ago, I was speaking to someone with ties to this franchise, and they told me that “Rita Rapulsa is the villain and the studio has Chopra on their wishlist”. Now, I have not been able to confirm this elsewhere, but Chopra is definitly not afraid to play a baddie as seen in Baywatch back in 2017. Not to mention, she is married to a Jonas brother… that definitely helps her case with the studio.

Other names being floated around, who are being considered and/or have tested for roles are Shaun Dixon (Vampirina: Teenage Vampire), Paris Bravo (Venom: The Last Dance), Judd Goodstein (Young Jedi Adventures), Momoma Tamada (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Christian Alexander Cruz, and Kira McLean.

Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, who are the creative forces behind Disney+’s hit series Percy Jackson and the Olympians will write, produce, and show-run the series.
