Attention, Demigods! More casting news for the upcoming season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has just been announced.

Variety and the Percy Jackson social media accounts has revealed that Ming-Na Wen, Jennifer Beals and Hubert Smielecki will be guest-starring the series as Greek gods and their character descriptions.

Wen will be playing Hera, queen of Olympus and the wife of Zeus (Courtney B. Vance). She’s described as “the goddess of marriage and family so the infidelity of Zeus rankles her. Regal, Maternal, and no-nonsense, She is the only god besides Zeus who has children who are also members of the Olympian council, which gives her leverage in the family politics.”

Beals is guest-starring as Demeter, the goddess of agriculture, the harvest, and the cycle of life and death. Demeter described as “a respected sister of Zeus who remembers the war against the Titans very well and will do what she must to prevent the return of her father Kronos (Nick Boraine).”

Smielecki will be playing Apollo, described as the “dazzling and charismatic god of the sun along with music, poetry, archery and prophecy who’s the literal golden boy of Olympus and the twin brother of the goddess Artemis (Dafne Keen), the moon to his sun.”

Wen is best known for her work that includes The Joy Luck Club, Disney’s Mulan, ABC series, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and her more recent work Hacks and Karate Kid: Legends.

Beals is known for Flashdance as Alex Owens and Bette Porter in the Showtime series The L Word and its sequel series The L Word: Generation Q and also appeared in The Book of Boba Fett along with Wen.

Smielecki is a newcomer who recently appeared in the Netflix series Ransom Canyon in 2025.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is based on the young adult novel series of the same name by Rick Riordan. It stars Walker Scobell as the title character who is a demigod and son of Poseidon along with Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, who are his best friends.

The series also stars, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, former friend of Percy and Annabeth, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Daniel Diemer as Tyson and Tamara Smart as Thalia.

Season 3 will be based on the third novel, The Titan’s Curse and is currently in production and expected to wrap sometime in March.

Season 3 was teased at the end of season two’s finale with an announcement that it will be released later this year.

The first two seasons of Percy Jackson and the Olympians are available to stream on Disney+.
