Disney has officially pulled back the curtain on its next original animated adventure. The first trailer and poster for Hexed have been released, offering audiences their first look at an enchanting new world filled with witches, hidden family secrets, and a young heroine discovering where she truly belongs.
Set to hit theaters on November 25, 2026, Hexed marks the 65th animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios and promises a magical, emotionally driven story in the tradition of some of Disney’s most beloved originals.
The film follows Billie, voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, an impulsive and unconventional teenager who has always felt out of place in her everyday suburban life. Everything changes when she accidentally unleashes mysterious magical powers and is swept away into a hidden realm known as Hexe.
There, Billie encounters an unforgettable cast of magical companions, including the enchanted feather quill pen Ms. Quill, voiced by seven-time Emmy winner Tracey Ullman, and the magical journal Elias Quire, brought to life by Stephen Fry. Along her spectacle-filled journey, Billie begins to uncover long-buried family secrets that could alter the magical world of witches forever.
The film also stars Rashida Jones as Alice, Billie’s cautious and protective mother.
Director Fawn Veerasunthorn described Billie as someone who has always felt “miscast” in her own life, explaining that the hidden magical world of Hexe allows her to finally begin understanding who she truly is.
“Hexe is a place where Billie begins to feel seen for the first time in her life,” added director Jason Hand. “She embarks on a journey of self-discovery that reveals a powerful connection to magic, and in the process uncovers long-held secrets about her family.”
Co-directed by Josie Trinidad and produced by Roy Conli and Yvett Merino, Hexed appears poised to deliver a fresh and visually stunning fantasy adventure centered on identity, belonging, and the power of embracing what makes us different.
With an imaginative magical realm, an all-star voice cast, and a mystery that spans generations, Hexed is shaping up to be one of Disney Animation’s most intriguing original films in years.
