Disney’s global celebration for its highly anticipated live-action Moana continued in unforgettable fashion today, as the cast and filmmakers brought the film’s worldwide promotional tour to London, England, following successful events in Hawaiʻi, Shanghai, and Sydney.
Leading the celebration were stars Dwayne Johnson and Catherine Lagaʻaia, alongside director Thomas Kail, as thousands of fans gathered for an immersive Pacific-inspired experience near London’s iconic Tower Bridge.
The centerpiece of the event featured a stunning 20-foot replica of Maui’s legendary fishhook alongside a recreation of Moana’s canoe, transforming Potters Fields Park into a vibrant island celebration. Guests were treated to live dance, drumming, and vocal performances celebrating the music of Moana, while the cast spent time meeting fans and posing for photos throughout the day.
One of the biggest surprises came during the finale when Dwayne Johnson joined students from the British Theatre Academy onstage for a performance of Maui’s beloved anthem, “You’re Welcome,” creating one of the day’s most memorable moments.

Perhaps the most heartwarming story belonged to students from St. Gregory’s School in Colchester. Earlier this year, the school’s TikTok asking Johnson to comment on their video went viral. Johnson responded personally, and the students were invited to today’s London celebration, where they finally met the actor in person.
The event also welcomed an impressive lineup of filmmakers and creative talent behind the production, including producers Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia, Scott Sheldon, and Auliʻi Cravalho, who voiced Moana in Disney’s animated films. Also attending were songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, choreographers Tiana Nonosina Liufau and Kayla Fa’amaligi, celebrating the film’s music and Polynesian cultural influences.
Disney’s live action reimagining follows Moana as she embarks on an all-new voyage beyond the reef alongside the demigod Maui in an adventure that expands the beloved story while introducing brand-new music, including the original song “Along the Way,” written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
With premiere events now spanning four continents, Disney is clearly making Moana one of its biggest global theatrical launches in years as anticipation continues to build ahead of the film’s release.
Moana sails exclusively into theaters on July 10, 2026.
