The countdown to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event officially begins at The Happiest Place on Earth as D23 Day at Disneyland Resort returns on Thursday, August 13, bringing a full day of exclusive entertainment, complimentary giveaways, limited-edition merchandise, and magical surprises for Disney fans of all ages. Disney has revealed a packed lineup of experiences that will transform both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure into the ultimate kickoff celebration ahead of the fan convention in Anaheim.
Guests entering either theme park with valid admission and reservations will receive a complimentary D23-themed Mickey Mouse ear hat and commemorative guide while supplies last. Throughout the day, visitors can also take advantage of complimentary unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads, including special D23-themed Magic Shots available exclusively during the celebration. Multiple themed photo locations will be scattered across Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney, while specialty photo booths will offer commemorative photo strips for an additional charge.
One of the biggest highlights will be the Disney Legends Cavalcade, stepping off at 1:30 p.m. along Main Street, U.S.A. The special procession will feature the Disneyland Band, select Disney Legends, and 23 beloved Disney characters, paying tribute to the incredible legacy of storytelling that has defined the Walt Disney Company for generations.
The celebration extends beyond the parks as well. At the Disneyland Hotel, guests can visit the Rose Court Garden for a special Disney Fairy Tale Weddings showcase featuring immersive entertainment and unique photo opportunities. The hotel will also feature a Camp Rock 3-inspired photo location throughout August, giving fans another reason to stop by during D23 festivities.
Collectors will have plenty to hunt for with exclusive D23 Day merchandise available at the Emporium in Disneyland Park, Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure, and World of Disney in Downtown Disney. The collection includes commemorative T-shirts, trading pins, magnets, and other limited-time keepsakes celebrating the annual fan event.
