Wade Wilson isn’t hanging up the red suit anytime soon.
Just when you thought Marvel’s loudest, fourth-wall-breaking mercenary was ready to ride off into the sunset, Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that another Deadpool movie is officially in development. Because, let’s be honest, there’s no universe where Deadpool stays quiet for long.
During an appearance at Fanatics Fest, Reynolds revealed that he’s actively working on the next chapter for everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed antihero. While he kept plot details locked tighter than a TVA time door, he teased that the film will feature “a few really deep cuts” from the comics—meaning longtime Marvel fans may finally see some obscure characters get their moment in the spotlight.
After the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine, which shattered box office records and officially welcomed Wade Wilson into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the announcement doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The bigger mystery is who Deadpool will annoy next.
Will Wolverine be dragged into another adventure? Could the X-Men finally get pulled into Wade’s chaotic orbit? Or is Kevin Feige already preparing a bottle of aspirin?
For now, Reynolds is staying coy, but one thing is clear: Deadpool’s story is far from over. And if history has taught us anything, it’s that no script is safe once Wade Wilson gets his hands on it.
