The countdown to Spider-Man: Brand New Day is almost over, and Marvel fans got their biggest look yet at the highly anticipated blockbuster as Tom Holland, Zendaya, director Destin Daniel Cretton, and the film’s cast celebrated the movie’s world premiere Monday night in Los Angeles.
The red carpet was packed with excitement as Holland returned to center stage as Peter Parker ahead of the film’s July 31 theatrical release. Zendaya once again stole the spotlight with a stunning spider-inspired look that paid tribute to the web-slinger, while Holland sported a red-and-maroon suit that subtly nodded to Spider-Man’s iconic costume. Fans lined the streets hoping to catch a glimpse of the cast as Marvel Studios and Sony kicked off the film’s final promotional push.
Brand New Day picks up several years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter Parker navigating life after Doctor Strange’s spell erased his identity from everyone’s memory. This time around, Peter is operating completely on his own, embracing the “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” role while facing dangerous new threats throughout New York City.
The fourth MCU Spider-Man film also introduces several major additions to the franchise. Jon Bernthal joins the adventure as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner, and Sadie Sink makes her long-awaited Marvel debut in a mystery role. Marvel has kept many story details tightly under wraps heading into the film’s release.
Expectations couldn’t be much higher. With the world premiere complete, all eyes now turn to this Friday when Spider-Man: Brand New Day officially swings into theaters, kicking off what could be another massive chapter for both Spider-Man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
