Move over, everyone else—your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is coming for the box office crown.
Early tracking for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day has arrived, and the numbers are nothing short of spectacular. According to Deadline, the highly anticipated fourth Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film is currently projected to debut between $180 million and $190 million domestically, making it the largest opening weekend of 2026 if those estimates hold.
That would also rank as the second-biggest opening in Spider-Man franchise history, trailing only the record-shattering Spider-Man: No Way Home, which exploded to $260.1 million during its opening weekend in 2021.
The excitement surrounding the film has been building for months. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie picks up after the heartbreaking events of No Way Home, with Peter Parker starting over in a world that no longer remembers who he is. The film also features the return of Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, making it one of Marvel’s biggest ensemble outings before Avengers: Doomsday later this year.
While projections can always shift as release day approaches, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: audiences are more than ready for Spider-Man’s return. If these numbers hold—and especially if strong word of mouth fuels additional momentum—Spider-Man: Brand New Day could become not only the biggest opening of 2026, but one of the defining theatrical events of the modern Marvel era.
With Marvel looking to regain its blockbuster dominance ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, all signs point to Spider-Man leading the charge.
