The Walt Disney Company and TikTok have announced a first-of-its-kind global partnership that will change how fans interact with Disney stories across social media.
The new collaboration will allow eligible TikTok creators to incorporate officially licensed scenes, characters, and moments from Disney’s vast library—including Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, FX, and more—into their short-form videos. The initiative is designed to celebrate fan creativity while giving creators access to authentic Disney content for the very first time.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the partnership doesn’t stop on TikTok. Select creator-made videos will also appear on Disney+ in a new mobile-first vertical video experience called Verts, marking the first time TikTok-created content will be featured on another streaming platform. The move reflects Disney’s growing interest in embracing creator culture while introducing younger audiences to its iconic brands in new ways.
The program will begin as a pilot in the United States before expanding internationally. Participating creators will gain access to exclusive Disney assets and opportunities designed to showcase their work to a broader audience, creating new pathways for emerging storytellers and content creators.
Disney says the partnership is all about putting fan creativity front and center while giving audiences fresh ways to engage with the company’s beloved franchises. With billions of Disney-related videos already shared across social media, the collaboration recognizes how important fan-generated content has become in today’s entertainment landscape.
As streaming platforms continue experimenting with short-form vertical content, Disney’s partnership with TikTok could become one of the industry’s most significant steps toward blending traditional storytelling with creator-driven entertainment. If successful, it may redefine how studios and fans collaborate in the digital age.
