RUMOR: Elizabeth Olsen May Return as Scarlet Witch in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

The Scarlet Witch may be preparing to make her long-awaited return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to insider MyTimeToShineHello, Elizabeth Olsen will reportedly reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff in Avengers: Doomsday. The rumor began gaining traction after Jennifer White, Olsen’s longtime movement coach and stunt double, shared a Marvel-related post while additional filming on the movie is reportedly underway.

Some reports claim White recently filmed scenes in an outfit resembling one of Wanda’s previous costumes. Marvel Studios has not confirmed that information, but the timing has certainly caught the attention of fans.

Olsen Has Denied Being in the Movie

Elizabeth Olsen has repeatedly said she is not appearing in Avengers: Doomsday and does not know when Wanda will return to the MCU. Her name was also missing from Marvel Studios’ massive cast announcement.

Of course, Marvel is famous for keeping its biggest surprises under wraps. Andrew Garfield spent months denying his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while several other Marvel stars have dodged questions or given misleading answers to protect major reveals.

Olsen could be telling the truth, but fans have learned not to completely trust anyone when Marvel secrets are involved.

Could Wanda Be Part of the Additional Filming?

If the latest rumor is true, Olsen may have joined the movie during its additional photography. That could mean Scarlet Witch has a smaller appearance, a major final-act surprise or a scene that helps set up Avengers: Secret Wars.

Wanda’s ability to manipulate reality makes her a natural fit for the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. There have also been rumors that Doctor Doom could manipulate or control her, which would create an interesting reversal of Wanda’s encounter with Tony Stark in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom makes that possibility even more intriguing.

Will the Scarlet Witch Return?

Nothing has been confirmed, but it is difficult to imagine the Multiverse Saga ending without Wanda Maximoff playing some kind of role.

Scarlet Witch remains one of the MCU’s most powerful and popular characters. Whether she appears throughout Doomsday or arrives during a surprise final scene, her return would immediately become one of the movie’s biggest moments.

For now, this should be treated strictly as a rumor. Marvel Studios may be preparing a major surprise, but we will have to wait and see if the Scarlet Witch truly returns.
