Vision is back, and his search for answers is about to get complicated.
Marvel Television’s VisionQuest celebrated its U.K. premiere in London with Paul Bettany, James Spader and members of the cast joining showrunner Terry Matalas for a screening of the first two episodes. Special guest Joe Locke also attended the event, held at BFI IMAX during the 70th BFI London Film Festival.
The series arrives exclusively on Disney+ on October 13, bringing the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along to its conclusion.
A Rebooted Vision, a Familiar Threat
This time around, Vision has escaped the people who wanted to turn him into a weapon and has been living in hiding. Searching for a new purpose, he turns to the artificial intelligence personalities embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and Ultron.
Yes, Ultron. Because apparently finding yourself wasn’t difficult enough already.
Vision’s quiet existence ends when a bounty on his head forces him onto the run with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be his reincarnated son. Staying alive means confronting his own nature, resisting Ultron’s influence, and figuring out the truth about his young companion.
That setup gives Vision plenty to wrestle with beyond whoever is chasing him. Identity, family and the baggage inside his own programming are all part of the equation.
Bettany and Spader Lead the Cast
Bettany and Spader star alongside Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady and others, with Emily Hampshire and James D’Arcy also featured. Matalas created the series for television and serves as showrunner.
Marvel also announced two soundtrack releases featuring music from Emmy Award-winning composer Mick Giacchino. The first volume, covering Episodes 1 through 4, arrives October 22. Volume 2, featuring Episodes 5 through 8, follows on November 12.
With its London premiere complete, the next stop is Disney+. Vision’s latest chapter begins October 13, and it sounds like peace will be in short supply.
