Beyonce’s role as queen of the world could be turning to queen of the jungle.

If Beyonce does join the cast, she’d play mom to Donald Glover — the Atlanta actor was announced as the voice of Simba in February. James Earl Jones will reprise his role as Simba’s father, Mufasa. Alongside Favreau directing, Jeff Nathanson is writing the remake of the iconic film. The Lion King will not be live-action but will look it, similar to that of The Jungle Book, which was also directed by Favreau (and has a sequel underway).
