Beyoncé Was Almost Cast As Plumette In Disney’s Live Action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!
A couple of weeks ago we reported that Idris Elba auditioned for the role of Gaston in the years highest grossing film Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Well apparently he was the only big name star up for a role.
In a recent interview with Yahoo (via ScreenRant) Bill Condon tried to cast music superstar Beyoncé in a role, but the role she was offered was too small.
“She would have been a good feather duster,” Condon said, implying that the role he wanted Beyonce to play was that of Plumette, a former maid turned into a feather duster (played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw in the final film).
It’s no surprise that bill Condon wanted Beyoncé for a role, he directed Beyoncé to her best acting performance in the 2006 film Dreamgirls.
Beauty and the Beast made a whooping $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office, and is now available to own on DVD/Blu-Ray.
Disney Studios will be working with Beyoncé soon, as she is in final negotiations to voice Nala in Jon Favreau’s Lion King remake.
