The Star Wars news just keeps on coming, but this news is revolves around Disney’s upcoming streaming service set to debut in 2019. Last fall it was announced a Star Wars series would be apart of the service but now we have an update that will excite fans.
Today Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed during an earnings call that several Star Wars shows are currently in development for the new service:
“We are developing not just one, but a few Star Wars series specifically for the Disney direct to consumer app. We’ve mentioned that and we are close to being able to reveal at least one of the interties that is developing that for us. Because the deal isn’t completely closed, we can’t be specific about that. I think you’ll find the level of talent … on the television front will be rather significant as well.”
Disney is keeping all details on this show under wraps, but updates will become available sooner rather than later. Especially with the service launching next year and Disney’s current series Rebels ending this year.
