Black Panther is continuing to be a box office juggernaut for Disney/Marvel Studios so it comes as no surprise that the studio wants to give fans more from that world. We do the final third act of Avengers: Infinity War takes place in Wakanda, and now thanks to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige we now know even more.
n a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feige had a lot to say regarding the success of Black Panther and the anticipation for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. When asked about a potential Black Panther sequel, Feige officially announced that it’s in the works:
“Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that. One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.”
This news may not be the most exciting as Feige has announced sequels (Spider-Man, Guardians) in the past immediately after the success of the initial film. But at least we know the sequel is coming now.
It is not known if the original cast for Black Panther will return for the sequel, especially with the implications that could happen in Wakanda from Infinity War. Are you excited about a Black Panther sequel? Who would you like to see T’Challa go up against next? Let us know in the comments below!
