Lucasfilm Reveals Full ‘Mandalorian’ Cast
Back in November, we learned that Pedro Pascal would be leading Jon Favreau’s live-action Star Wars series called The Mandalorian. Now, Lucasfilm has revealed the full cast.
In a press release sent out Wednesday, the production company announced that it’s adding Giancarlo Esposito (Jungle Book), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) to the cast. Also previously announced and still remaining will be Gina Carano (Deadpool) and Nick Nolte (Affliction).
“We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for everyone to see what we’re up to,” said Favreau in the release.
The series, developed by filmmaker Jon Favreau, is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. It follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
Dave Filoni, who has worked on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, will direct the first episode of the series. Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones) will direct additional episodes.
Favreau is also executive producing the show, along with Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.
