Last year our friends over at MCUCosmic had learned and reported that Disney was in development of a Hawkeye/Kate Bishop series for their streaming service Disney+. Now, the series has been confirmed.
According to Variety, Disney’s upcoming streaming service is officially developing a limited series based on the archery ace Marvel character with Jeremy Renner attached to star.
The project is said to be an adventure series in which Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, will pass the torch to Kate Bishop. Bishop is a Marvel Comics character who took up the Hawkeye mantle after Barton. She is also a member of the group known as the Young Avengers.
Renner has played Hawkeye since making an uncredited cameo in 2011’s “Thor.” He has reprised the role in Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and the upcoming Avengers: Endgame.
While Disney+ is set to launch in late 2019, no official details on this Marvel series have been announced, however a series based on Loki, Scarlett Witch & Vision is also officially in the works. Also, in October, it was revealed that Falcon and Winter Soldier were set to team up on a new project with Malcolm Spellman (Empire) onboard as the writer. Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie were reported to suit up again as the superheroes.
