‘Cinderella’ Actor Richard Madden In Talks To Join Marvel Studios ‘The Eternals’

It starting to look like a former Prince Charming will be joining forces with Maleficent in an upcoming Marvel Studios feature.

According to The Wrap, Richard Madden is set to join the cast of the upcoming MCU film, The Eternals. While the outlet wasn’t able to confirm his role in the feature, Variety is claiming Madden will play none other than Ikaris.

Madden, of course, joins the previously announced Angelina Jolie, who is said to be playing Sersi, as well as Kumail Nanjiani and Ma Dong-seok — both in undisclosed roles.

Details about the film are still tightly under wraps. However, we do know that it will center on the Jack Kirby-created comic, The Eternals. The storyline follows super- powered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals. They battle with a more monstrous offshoot known as the Deviants. Deviants arose at the hands of the cosmic beings called Celestials (a race featured in the Guardians of the Galaxy films).

Chloe Zhao, an award-winning indie director behind the critical hits The Rider and Songs My Brothers Taught Me, will helm from a script by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.

Filming on The Eternals is expected to begin later this year after Black Widow wraps production.
