Annette Benning In Talks To Join Fox/Disney’s ‘Death On The Nile’
Hot off Captain Marvel, four-time Oscar nominee Annette Benning is in talks to join the star-studded cast of Death On The Nile for 20th Century Fox.
According to Deadline, It is unclear who Benning will be playing in the follow-up to 2017’s Murder On The Orient Express, directed by Kenneth Branagh, who returns to direct and star.
The actress joins a star-studded cast that includes Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger), Jodi Comer (Killing Eve), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), and Branagh reprising his role as the mustachioed Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. The film is due to start filming towards the end of September.
Death On The Nile was published in 1937. In the story, Poirot was on vacation in Egypt and ends up investigating a murder that resulted from a love triangle. The story was filmed for the big screen in 1978 and starred Bette Davis, Mia Farrow, Maggie Smith, Angela Lansbury and David Niven.
Death On The Nile is expected to sail into theaters on October 9, 2020.
