‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ To Reveal Who Rey’s Parents Are

If you still have questions lingering around after The Last Jedi regarding who Rey’s parents are, it looks like we may finally have some answers. IGN claims that Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in the current Star Wars trilogy, has confirmed that The Rise of Skywalker will finally reveal who Rey’s parents are.

Ridley spoke to USA Today about the final installment of the Skywalker saga and when asked about if the film would further explore her character’s parentage, Ridley said, “[Director J.J. Abrams] did say the question is answered. So at the end of the film, you do know what the dealio is.”

Back in April during Star Wars Celebration, J.J. Abrams said that “there’s more to the story than you’ve seen” when the subject of Rey’s parents were mentioned, teasing that he and writer Chris Terrio still had a lot to say about Rey’s backstory. If anything, Ridley’s comment signifies that The Rise of Skywalker will finally bring some light to the topic and answer the question Star Wars fans have been waiting on since the release of The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is coming to theaters on December 20th.
