First Look at Daniel Brühl As Baron Zemo In ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’

Just days after Marvel Studios Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con, that featured the MCU phase 4 slate, we get our first look at Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo in the upcoming Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Brühl posted the first look on Instagram which you can see below.

Bruhl’s Zemo, was the primary antagonist in Civil War, a vengeful Sokovian soldier who wanted to destroy the Avengers after his family was killed during the battle of Sokovia in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Zemo was taken prisoner at the end of the film, but the potential certainly existed for him to escape.

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are reprising their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. The two appeared onstage together with Cap’s shield at SDCC.

John Wick creator Derek Kolstad joined the writing/creative team for the series, though details are still under wraps, but it seems likely to follow up on Falcon’s new status quo after Avengers: Endgame.

Emily VanCamp is also likely to return but has not been  confirmed. VanCamp originated the role of Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before reprising her part in Civil War.

All six episodes of the miniseries, which will air in August 2020, could reportedly be directed by Emmy nominee Kari Skogland (The Handmaids Tale, The Punisher), with Malcolm Spellman (Empire) writing.
