Kerri Russell Officially Joins Cast of ‘Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker’

During the Walt Disney Studios panel at this year’s D23 Expo, the cast of the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker walked across the stage to hype up the crowd for the epic conclusion of the Skywalker saga. On stage, we saw director JJ Abrams, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Billy Dee Williams, and more – including the beloved droids!

In that group, we also saw Kerri Rusell, a brand new addition to the Star Wars universe who will be appearing in TROS. Russell describes her character as being “very cool and a little bit shady. She’s kind of a criminal, and an old friend of Poe’s.” In a bit of a fan-service moment, John Boyega immediately pretends to get jealous. “It was in the past, babe,” reassures Oscar Isaac. “She means nothing to me.”

We can’t wait to learn more about Russell’s new character and the rest of the gang’s final adventure when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker lands in theaters on December 20th. Check out the new poster below:
