During the Walt Disney Studios panel at this year’s D23 Expo, new details were revealed for the upcoming live-action adaption of Cruella, an origin story based on the classic 101 Dalmatians antagonist Cruella de Vil.
Emma Stone was not able to be present for the announcement but instead, she sent video from the set of Cruella. Set in 1970s London, this film will definitely have a “punk rock” feel to it. The image shown at the D23 panel exemplifies those vibes and the audience was ecstatic to see the direction this live-action will be taking. In the middle of the video, Stone also channeled her inner Cruella de Vil as she yelled at a cute dog barking at her off-screen.
Cruella will also be starring Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Joel Fry. Be sure to catch it in theaters when arrives on May 28, 2021.
