JUMPING JELLYFISH! The Little Mermaid Live! will be part of our world in less than a month’s time!
Little Mermaid fans got their first look at the cast of ABC’s upcoming The Little Mermaid Live! in costume in a brand-new promo video, shown on Sunday’s premiere of Kids Say the Darndest Things.
Fans were given a glimpse of Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) as Ariel (those long red tresses and eyebrows, though! LOVE), Queen Latifah (Girls Trip, Hairspray, Chicago) as the infamous Ursula, Shaggy as Sebastian, John Stamos (General Hospital, Full House) as Chef Louis and Graham Phillips (The Good Wife, Riverdale) as Prince Eric.
According to ABC, who is airing the live musical event, The Little Mermaid Live! will “take viewers on a magical adventure under the sea as live musical performances by a star-studded cast will be interwoven into the broadcast of the original feature film.”
The event “will feature beautifully intricate sets and costumes, with music from the original animated film and the Tony Award-winning Broadway stage version.”
The live performance marks 30 years since the original animated feature film first swam into theaters.
The Wonderful World of Disney presents The Little Mermaid Live! will air November 5 at 8 p.m. ET, live on ABC.
