Marvel Studios Disney+ series She-Hulk is in development and the studio has tapped an Emmy winning writer to lead the writing team on the upcoming project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jessica Gao of Rick & Morty has been hired develop and lead the writing team on She-Hulk.

Gao becomes the third Rick & Morty alumni to work on a project with Marvel Studios. Co-creator Dan Harmon did some work on Doctor Strange and fellow writer Michael Waldron is currently working on the Loki series.

The studio is currently looking to cast a 30-40 year old women to play Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk. In the comics, Walters is Bruce Banner’s cousin, and became She-Hulk after Bruce provided her with blood in order to save her life. It’s unknown of the Disney+ series will remain faithful to this origin story.

Reports did come out last month that Liv Tyler and William Hurt would reprise their roles of Betty Ross and Thunderbolt Ross.

It is unknown at this time when the series will kick off production, or when they will premiere on the streaming platform. The series will be apart of Marvel Studios Phase Four, which starts with Black Widow next year.
