Disney is finding unique ways to tell mature original stories through 20th Century Fox. Now, thanks to a new report Disney has green-lit a new project under their recently acquired banner.

Dan Trachtenberg directing Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman in 10 Cloverfield Lane

According to Discussing Film, 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Boys director Dan Trachtenberg has signed on to direct Skulls.

The story will follow a Comanche woman who goes against gender norms and traditions to become a warrior. This sounds like a cross between Pocahontas and Mulan to us.

Patrick Aison who most recently wrote and produced Amazon’s Jack Ryan and USA’s Treadstone has signed on to write the screenplay, with longtime producer John Davis (Dolemite Is My Name) on board to produce.
