Margot Robbie Reportedly Offered The Role of Tinkerbell In Disney’s ’Peter Pan and Wendy’

Last week, we brought you exclusive news regarding the role of Tiger Lily in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Peter Pan titled Peter and Wendy. In the report, we highlighted that casting is underway and it looks like the studio is looking to lock up some big-name actors for the film.

According to The Illuminerdi, Birds of Prey star Margot Robbie has been offered the role of Peter’s partner-in-crime, Tinkerbell. As of now, this is just an offer, and it’s likely the studio has other actresses on the table. So let’s be clear this doesn’t mean Robbie has the role at this time.

Here is a breakdown of Tinkerbell provided by the site:

Peter’s partner-in-crime and voice of reason with the voice of a million tiny bells, Tink helps the Darlings avoid danger during their Neverland adventure. When Peter, the Darlings, and/or the Lost Boys are in trouble, she uses her magical powers to save the day.

Peter Pan and Wendy will begin production this April in Vancouver, Canada and is expected to wrap in late-August.

David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon) is on board to direct with Toby Halbrooks, who co-wrote Pete’s Dragon, is on board wrote the most recent draft for the film. Jim Whitaker (A Wrinkle In Time) will be producing the project alongside Joe Roth (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil). Casting for other major roles is currently ongoing.

Back in 2018, we reported that the project could make its way to Disney+, and as far as we know that is still the case. However, Disney has declined to comment on that report as of now.

Margot Robbie is one of the hottest names in Hollywood at the moment and just about every studio wants to work with her. She was last seen in last year’s critically acclaimed film Bombshell and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood from director Quinten Tarantino. Robbie will next be seen in the DC film Birds of Prey, where she reprises her role as Harley Quinn from 2016’s Suicide Squad.
