Disney+ to Adapt The Podcast ‘The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel’ Into a Series

Disney+ has reportedly acquired the rights to the popular scripted podcast The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel, our friends over at Geeks WorldWide has learned.

The series will be produced by Anonymous Content and Paramount TV, with Alix Madigan (Winter’s Bone) and Gen–Z Media co-producing the series. Screenwriter Joe Ballarini, who worked on the story for the My Little Pony: The Movie, will take on writing duties, with Jenny Turner Hall (Case #5930) set to direct.

Additionally, David Kreizman, who has worked on popular daytime soap operas including Days of Our Lives, Guiding Light, and All My Children is set to serve as the head writer. Benjamin Strouse, Chris Terry, and Turner Hall all worked on the original podcast are attached to the project as producers and writers.

The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel is a scripted podcast for middle grade kids, performed by middle grade kids. It is a fun, high-quality, serial mystery that can be described as Goonies meets Spy Kids meets Stranger Things for 8-12 year olds.

There is currently no production start date for the project at this time. The series has been in the works since 2017.
