Ming-Na Wen to Return For ‘The Mandalorian’ Season Two

Ming-Na Wen (Mulan, Agents of SHIELD) had a small guest role on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, as Fennec Shand, and according to a new report, Wen’s Shand will return for the highly-anticipated second season.

According to ThatHashtagShow, they have learned from a source close to the production that confirmed Wen’s return. It is unknown how big her role is this time around, but last time we saw Shand, she was shot and left for dead in the Tatooine desert, but ultimately survived and was greeted by a mysterious figure who has yet be revealed.

The site has learned that the famed Sandtroopers, who we first met in Star Wars: A New Hope will be making their appearance on the series, additionally, Imperial Gunners, who work on the Imperial starships are also appearing. These characters will likely be tied to Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon.

The Mandalorian season two will see the return of Pedro Pascal as titular bounty hunter, Gina Carano as Cara Dune, Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Emily Swallow as the Armorer, Bill Burr as Mayfeld and Giancarlo Esposito as the aforementioned Moff Gideon. The series will also include some newcomers including Rosario Dawson as Jedi Ahsoka Tano, with Michael Biehn and Sasha Banks in unknown roles. There are also rumors that Jamie Lee Curtis could have a role in the series, but has yet to be confirmed.

Directors on the series include Bryce Dallas Howard (Pete’s Dragon), Peyton Reed (Ant-Man), Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, Alita: Battle Angel), Carl Weathers, Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars), and Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Jungle Book). Director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) recently revealed that he did not return to direct episodes due to his commitment on his latest film Next Goal Wins. Favreau will once again showrun and executive produce alongside Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.
