When you think of Wolverine, it’s hard not to think of Hugh Jackman. His casting was up there with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Chris Evans’s Captain America. However, his last film as Wolverine was 2017’s Logan and we were all sad to see him go.

In a recent interview with The Daily beast, Jackman claims if the Disney/Fox merger happened earlier, we would have bared the claws once again.
“Totally. Honestly, Marlow, if seven years ago that had happened I’d be like, “Oh yeah!” but I knew it was the right time for me to leave the party—not just for me, but for the character. Somebody else will pick it up and run with it. It’s too good of a character not to. It’s kind of like, you’re on your way home and your friend rings you and goes, Oh, dude, a new DJ just came on and the music is awesome, are you going to come back? And you say, Sounds good but… no. They’re fine with someone else.”
The Walt Disney/Fox merger solidified itself in March of 2019 and The Walt Disney Company acquired a plethora of new IP so use. Some properties include the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Avatar, Planet of the Apes and a great deal more.
The Disney/Fox partnership is slowly developing a long list of exciting projects as well, which includes Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, Ryan Reynolds and Jason Batemans Clue remake, and a new Planet of the Apes from Wes Ball (Maze Runner).
We can only imagine what the Marvel Cinematic Universe would consist had the merger happened earlier. We could have seen the Fantastic Four and X-Men interact with our Avengers. Nevertheless, the Fox Merger is set in stone and we will see the character again on the big screen.
