We finally have the answer to one of the biggest questions of the last few months. When will our beloved Disney parks open here in the United States? We now have that answer. The Magic Kingdom and Disneys Animal KIngdom will open on July 11th. EPCOT and Disneys Hollywood Studios will open on July 15.

During a call, today leaders from Disney and Sea World in Orlando Florida laid out their plans for reopening in Orange County. SeaWorld looks to reopen on June 11th. Disney laid out plans for reopening that are very much like the opening for Disney Springs last week. There will be face masks worn by guests and cast members. As guests exit attractions their will be hand sanitizing stations. Also, there will be temperature screening for guests as they enter parks. They also said that there will be limited capacity and a new reservation system implemented for guests to obtain access to the parks.
The company is suspending parades and other events that would cause crowds to gather. Contactless payments via Apple Pay, Google Pay and Disney Magic Bands will be encouraged.
The executive from Disney stated that the reservation system is still in development and details should be released soon.
Disney’s reopening plans were presented to Orange County’s Economic Recovery Task Force, a panel of business and community leaders appointed by Mayor Jerry Demings. The Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has said that theme parks will need approval from the county before he will sign off on their reopening dates.
The task force voted to approve Disney’s plan.
