Disneyland Cancels Oogie Boogie Bash Due to COVID-19

Looks like Oogie Boogie will be the latest casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Disneyland has announced that they have to cancel the Oogie Boogie Bash that takes place at Disneys California Adventure Park. They are following suit with  Universal Studios Hollywood in canceling their lucrative fall-themed after-hours events. Knotts Berry Farm has not announced their plans for the Halloween Haunt event.

This would have been the second year of the Oogie Boogie Bash in DCA. It was moved from Disneyland last year as it replaced the former Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland. The new Halloween party at Disney California Adventure hosted by a monster of scare-e-monies Oogie Boogie from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” featured a villain-themed “World of Color” show and “Descendants”-inspired dance party. Preparing for Oogie Boogie Bash, which typically begins in mid-September, takes a substantial amount of planning and coordination, Disneyland officials said. There has also been no answer from Disney as to if they will be decorating for the holidays this year at the park. There is still no timetable as to when the park will reopen as they are still in constant communication with state officials.
