Danny Trejo has long wished to find his way to a “galaxy far, far away….”

Back in 2020, on his “Animal Talking” podcast, Star Wars writer Gary Whitta waxed poetic about the possibility of Danny Trejo in Star Wars.

“I don’t have any clout at Lucasfilm, but let me tell you something, if I could wave a magic wand right now, Danny Trejo as a badass bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe,” said Whitta (as quoted by “I think a lot of people would want to see that… “I’m going to call Filoni after the show, we’re going to get him on.

“I’m going to call Filoni after the show, we’re going to get him on,” added Whitta.

If that call was made, it worked!

Machete In Space

“Machete finally made it into space, Star Wars!” posted Trejo on his Twitter page. “It was great working with Temuera Morrison and others on #TheBookOfBobaFett!”

Trejo, pictured with Morrison, presumably on the set of The Mandalorian, is almost cute. And the man who usually plays some vicious folks looks like a kid in a grade-school photo.

Just prior to that post, Trejo tweeted:

However, it seems that Trejo’s wish to be part of The Saga goes at least a little farther back.

Of course, many know of Trejo’s amazing rise from cell to stardom. The actor is very active in charitable works and is now a Hollywood staple.

And while he often plays wicked men, he goes to great lengths to ensure they meet their just desserts.

In that way, he seems to be the perfect person to foster Boba Fett’s softer side, even as he tames a rancor (or a puppy).
