Latoya Raveneau, Who Helmed The New ‘Proud Family’ Reboot, Inks Overall Deal With Disney

The Proud Family reboot series may have premiered less than two weeks ago, yet Disney has already decided to keep director Latoya Raveneau around for future projects.

According to Deadline, the writer, producer, and director has signed an overall deal to develop and produce more projects for Disney Television Animation and its still relatively new acquisition 20th Television Animation. She’ll also work on some live-action content too.

In regards to Raveneau’s new deal, President of Disney Branded Television Ayo Davis said, “We’re all delighted that Latoya chose Disney to be her creative home, and we’re looking forward to even more of her unique and inspired storytelling talent and a lasting relationship with her.”

While it’s unclear what any of those projects will be, the deal is shows how pleased the company is with Raveneau’s work so far. Considering the kind of animated content 20th Century is associated with, it all but ensures that Raveneau will continue to work on more mature products going forward too.

Prior to working on The Proud Family, Raveneau contributed as both a storyboard artist and writer for the Disney Junior’s Puppy Dog Pals and Rise Up, Sing Out respectively. She also helped write Disney Junior’s upcoming musical series Eureka!
