Interviewing Cricket Green is a little different from interviewing your average television star.
For one thing, he’s 10. For another, asking him a seemingly straightforward question has a tendency to take the conversation somewhere you weren’t quite expecting.
Ahead of the Season 5 premiere of Disney’s Big City Greens, The DisInsider had the opportunity to sit down with Cricket to find out what’s ahead for the Green family. We went into our five-minute conversation prepared to talk about the new season, future adventures and even what Cricket might do with an unsupervised day at a Disney park.
Things escalated quickly.

CRICKET
Five Minutes With Cricket Green
We started simply enough: Describe Season 5 in three words.
From there, however, we discovered there are a couple of words Cricket isn’t particularly fond of, discussed the adventures he’d still like to experience and eventually made the potentially disastrous decision to ask what would happen if Cricket Green were left completely unsupervised in a Disney park.
We’ll let Cricket explain the rest.
For the record, The DisInsider does not condone kidnapping country stars.
We also do not condone stealing churros.
Or littering in Paradise Bay.
We feel this is important to reiterate.

What’s Ahead in ‘Big City Greens’ Season 5
Thankfully, Cricket doesn’t need our help finding adventures.
Season 5 continues the story of 10-year-old Cricket Green and his wildly out-of-place family, including older sister Tilly, father Bill and Gramma Alice. According to Disney, the new season will see the Greens and their friends tackling some of their biggest adventures yet.

The season also brings an impressive roster of guest stars. Stephen King, Luke Combs, Dylan Sprouse, Megan Stalter, Chad Michael Murray, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, Matt Gourley, Sona Movsesian, Aaron Bleyaert, Martha Kelly, Steve Schirripa and Mike Colter are all set to appear during Season 5.
All of the series regulars return as well, including Chris Houghton (Cricket), Marieve Herington (Tilly), Bob Joles (Bill), Artemis Pebdani (Gramma Alice), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Nancy), Zeno Robinson (Remy) and Anna Akana (Gloria).

Created and executive produced by brothers Chris and Shane Houghton, Big City Greens is produced by Disney Television Animation, part of Disney Kids & Family. Anna O’Brian, who directed Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation, is now an executive producer for Season 5. Stephen Sandoval (The Owl House) serves as co-executive producer, with Michael Coughlin (The Muppets) as producer.
When to Watch
The first five episodes of Big City Greens Season 5 premiere August 21 at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel and arrive August 22 on Disney+. Additional episodes will roll out throughout the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.

After spending five minutes with Cricket, we’re not entirely sure Big City is prepared for what’s coming next.

And whether Cricket actually follows any of our advice remains to be seen. For legal purposes, however, The DisInsider would once again like to remind everyone that we do not condone kidnapping country stars, stealing churros or littering in Paradise Bay.
Special thanks to Disney and the Big City Greens team for the opportunity to chat with Cricket. We can’t wait to see what kind of chaos Season 5 brings next!
