After over two years of trailer teases and after being rescheduled (literally) seven times, Sony and Marvel’s Morbius finally hits theaters this weekend.
Last night, the film’s review embargo was lifted. Since then, countless critics have begun sharing their honest thoughts on the film.
Currently, Morbius has an 18% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 47 % on the Banana Meter.

While it would be easy (and cheap) to say this superhero vampire film “sucks”, it is also admittedly hard to gauge a film’s quality from aggregated numbers. Because of that, we at The DisInsider have compiled several reviews from some of our industry colleagues in the hopes of helping you decide for yourself if the film is worth the price of admission.
You can check them out below:
Aside from its previously mentioned issues with clinging to a release date, in the last week alone, it seems as if the film’s own director didn’t want fans to see it, as he spoiled the film on Twitter in an interview with Cinema Blend.
Have any of the reviews swayed your opinion or intention of seeing the film this weekend? Sound off below!
In Morbius, Jared Leto transforms into the titular enigmatic vampiric antihero from Marvel’s comics. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, he attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will he succumb to his mysterious new urges?
Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House), the film stars Leto (Suicide Squad), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Adria Arjona (Andor), Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes), Tyrese Gibson (Fast and Furious franchise), with Michael Keaton somehow (?) reprising his role as Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming.
