Production on Marvel’s Ironheart is gearing up, and it has landed two directors to helm the Disney+ series with Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes.
Bailey is the co-creator of Brown Girls, and she also produced and directed episodes of Dear White People, and Barnes has directed episodes of multiple hit shows, including Atlanta and Blindspotting.
To bring the series to life, they will be splitting directing duties in half, with Bailey directing the first three episodes and Barnes taking over for episodes four to six.
Ironheart follows MIT student Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who invents her own Iron Man suit. Before the series debuts, Thorne will make her first appearance as Riri in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is set for release on November 11th, 2022.
Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler have also joined the team as executive producers alongside Kevin Feige, Louise D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum and Zoie Nagelhout.
