Laura Donnelly to Play Elsa Bloodstone in ‘Werewolf By Night’

Laura Donnely was confirmed by Deadline to have been cast in Marvel’s Werewolf by Night, although, at the time, they could not confirm who she could be playing.

But our friend Lizzie Hill over at The Cosmic Circus has gained the exclusive news that Donnelly will be playing Elsa Bloodstone.

For those who don’t know, Elsa Bloodstone is a monster-slaying huntress who first appeared in her own limited comic series in 2001.

Lizzie reports that with the introduction of Bloodstone and Blade, Marvel could be working towards a Midnight Sons project, which is Marvel’s equivalent of DC’s Justice League Dark.

The Northern Irish actress is currently starring in the HBO fantasy series The Nevers and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for The Ferryman, the same play she won a Laurence Olivier Award a year prior.

Werewolf By Night is currently filming in Georgia under the direction of Michael Giacchino. It will be released this October, exclusively on Disney+.
