Zac Efron Wants To Join The MCU

From High School Musical to the MCU?

In a recent interview with Extra, while promoting his new movie Firestarter, actor Zac Efron made it extremely clear that he’s finally ready to play a superhero, and that he’d love a role in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe specifically.

Touching on the topic of one day wearing a cape or spandex, Efron said, “I love the Marvel Universe… I’ve been a fan of Marvel since I, you know, started walking, so, you know, if there’s, if the right character comes along and, you know, they want me to jump in, I would, I would jump at the opportunity!”

Prior to Will Poulter being cast as Adam Warlock, Efron was one of the internet’s top picks to play the character. Rumors even surfaced that he was James Gunn’s top pick for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. That is, until Gunn shot that down himself.

While not even Efron knows who he wants to play, there is nothing wrong with manifesting his desire. Simu Liu did the same thing anyway, and we all know how that turned out.

And obviously Efron would be an easy get for Marvel, considering he got his start in the Disney-owned company’s iconic High School Musical trilogy.

Who do you think Efron should play in the MCU? Sound off below!
