Turns out that the force was not only strong enough to bring Ewan McGregor back to the Star Wars franchise; Liam Neeson is also returning.
Announced Saturday during Lucasfilm’s annual Star Wars Celebration, the Academy Award-nominated actor will reprise his role as Qui-Gon Jinn in a brand new spin-off series titled Tales of the Jedi. The spin-off will be both animated an anthology, with each episode reportedly following a different Jedi from the prequel era.
It’s believed that Jinn’s arc in the series will revolve around his time as a Padawan under Count Dooku.
Additionally, one of Neeson’s will play a younger version of the master Jedi. A younger version of Dooku will also appear.
While the series’ announcement comes as a major surprise, what fans may find even more exciting is that the series will debut on Disney+ this fall!
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more details soon.
