‘The Mandalorian’ Returning for Season 4

Back in 2019, The Mandalorian kickstarted the next phase of the Star Wars franchise on Disney+. The series has become a massive success spawning a whole new cinematic corner of the Star Wars saga. It also introduced Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, the most popular character the saga has seen in years. So it was no surprise that the series was coming back for a third season, announced for February of 2023. However, it doesn’t look like Mando’s adventures will stop there.

According to a conversation between Jon Favreau and Cinemablend, the fourth season of the show is currently being written. Below is the quote that Favreau gave Cinemablend at Star Wars Celebration.

With television, we’re very lucky that we don’t have to rush things through into an hour-and-a-half, two hours. We get to tell stories slowly. So now, as Dave [Filoni]’s doing Ahsoka, it’s very much informing the writing that I’m doing for [The Mandalorian] Season 4. It becomes – how should I put it – more precise.

This news is exciting, but shouldn’t come as a surprise. The Mandalorian has been extremely popular and successful for Disney+. It would make sense that Disney would want the show to continue for as long as possible. But even if the series begins to slow down and eventually end, projects like Skeleton Crew and Ashoka will continue the ever growing story of the Mando-Verse.
