Taron Egerton Reveals He’s Met With Marvel Studios

Could Taron Egerton be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future? While many fans want to see him take on the role of Wolverine, played famously by Hugh Jackman, we now know he has met with Marvel Studios.

While speaking with the New York Times during his press tour for Apple TV+ series Black Bird, Egerton revealed that he has indeed met with Marvel Studio executives, including Kevin Feige. Egerton goes on to mention Wolverine only adding more fuel to the speculation fire.

“I don’t think it would be wrong to say that. I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it. But hopefully if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot.”

As of now, it is unconfirmed if the talks were for the Wolverine role or another role altogether. We have seen in the past popular fan casts get utilized in the MCU after stars met with Marvel Studios. Most recently was John Krasinski‘s appearance as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Marvel Studios will have their own panel at this year’s D23 Expo on September 10. This would be an ideal way not only to announce an X-Men/Mutants project but Taron Egerton as the new Wolverine, that is if what this is all about that is. Marvel Studios will also be attending San Diego Comic-Con later this month, with some smaller announcements sure to be made.
