New ‘Black Panther’ Funko Pops Pay Tribute To Chadwick Boseman

While the excitement builds towards a potential first look at Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Funko has surprisingly unveiled a special tribute to the first film.

Earlier today the company shared a post on its official Twitter account announcing the upcoming release of a Black Panther Legacy Collection.

Although none of the new pops or merchandise tease any new characters or clothing that might appear in the highly anticipated sequel, they do reveal a revamped T’Challa figure that sees him resting on his throne. The figure is no doubt done to honor the passing of the film’s real life star Chadwick Boseman.

Boseman passed away after a private battle with cancer nearly two years ago.

While he was last seen as Black Panther in Avengers: Endgame before his passing, he reprise the role in Marvel Studios’ What If…? and earned a post-humous Emmy nomination last week.

In addition to a new figure for Boseman’s T’Challa, there will be new pops for Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, Angela Bassett’s Ramonda, and Letitia Wright’s Shuri. There’s also a special set that includes another vairant of the Shuri figure with a T-Shirt. It seems like you’ll be able to purchase them at Target though.

You can check out the new products in the company’s official post down below! It seems like you’ll be able to purchase them at Target though.
