Disney+ Movie ‘The Slumber Party’ in The Works

Disney+ is full steam ahead, developing new and original content for its subscribers. Now, it appears a new movie is in the works and it is sure to be one comedic party.

The streamer is developing a brand new original movie tentatively titled The Slumber Party. The project follows three best friends who are determined to have the time of their lives when they get together for a slumber party to celebrate Anna’s Maria’s 14th birthday. However, none of them are happy that Anna Maria’s soon-to-be step-sister, is also planning to attend. Although the night proves more eventful than any of them imagine.

Production is expected to begin in Atlanta, Georgia this September.

Disney+ has a packed summer with multiple projects in various stages of filming, which includes The Spiderwick Chronichles, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, Ironheart, Echo, Loki (S2), Out of My Mind, amongst many others.

Disney+ will have its very own booth this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con where fans and attendees can “shop new, exclusive merchandise and products celebrating Disney+ and the stories you love.” From t-shirts, jackets, and even sweatshirts, it seems that the booth will be stacked with so much Disney+ merchandise.

On Friday, September 9 at 3:30 p.m., guests will be treated to new details, first looks, sneak peeks, surprises, and announcements regarding upcoming theatrical and Disney+ titles from Disney Live Action, Pixar Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Studio heads, filmmakers, and cast members will come together onstage with the inside scoop on some of these studios’ most exciting titles.
