‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Hits $600 Million at The Worldwide Box Office

While San Diego Comic-Con was the place to be for Marvel news, Thor: Love and Thunder is continuing its March at the box office. The fourth entry hit a new milestone this weekend.

The film hit held the number 3 spot in its third week at the domestic box office grossing $22.1 million. The weekend gross helped propel Love and Thunder to surpass $600 million at the worldwide box office.

Internationally, Thor pulled in another $31.8 million to stay at number 1 in a myriad of markets. Through Sunday, the tentpole has grossed $276.2 million at the domestic box office and $322 million overseas.

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey, unlike anything he’s ever faced – a search for self-discovery. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder is in theaters now, and you can check out our review here.
